Fulgurortherium australe was a little dinosaur. It was only about one metre long.

Its name means lightning beast.

Bones of this dinosaur were found at Lightning Ridge in New South Wales. Some bones have also been found at Dinosaur Cove in Victoria. Some bones have also been found in the Otway Ranges in Victoria.

This little dinosaur would have lived in a very cold and dark place. That is what Victoria would have been like in the Early Cretaceous period about 115 million years ago  (MYA) .

Leg bones and shoulder bones are the main bones that have been found. The leg bones were only twenty centimetres long.
